the oasis in the waste
where found the cool waters
the outside environs desolate
but here is shelter
nourishment
the chance for renewal
how could such quietude
the still waters that are deep
clear and shiny in the light
be any less than true
ask and shall you receive

and dainty dinty dancing time
falling orbs falling sky
i glanced i stared i absorbed the air
even now my marvels wear
like a cuff or other cloth
upon my arm
marvel mighty make a new

could we say yes
to the chance
not loneliness
but sublime
weekends that
we dawdled
with entwined limbs
languished for
the dew and dawn
the sense so new
the friendly time
so finding we
the realm of this
could make we sense
or after say
the words before
ringing sharp
so crystal clear
there wasn’t a doubt
never in your heart
that staying now
was staying right
