the totality is

the totality is
by Tanner Brockwell

the totality is
subsumed
in the whole
and compassed round
and round and round
corners met rising
to the slopping canopy
billowing in the wind
moves in and out
moves as a ruffle
the grace of all
rolling like gentle
winds across
the face of the hills
caught in the fancy
mere imagery
the fantastic show
dancing across
your eyes resting
the flickering flame
puffs and wicks
caught in a gust
winds that blew and blew
arriving from far
continuing on again
a journey in that vastness

sleuice of water

2012/01/13 in poems

sleuice of water
by Tanner Brockwell

sleuice of water
upon the darkened street
green toned lights
cross this way
world orbits with companions
close to hand the scale
among see the clouds
hinting reveal soaring
majesty you have
attainments and skills
lodged tight the repetitive
surprised when
tea cup and spoon
falling free
could pick them like flowers
blooms of beautiful arcs
the expression of real
hushing say finger to lips
one lump or two

the smell is acrid in the air of burning leaves

2011/11/09 in poems

the smell is acrid in the air of burning leaves
by Tanner Brockwell

the smell is acrid in the air of burning leaves
what stillness is of motion is the swirl
of the smoke
devils in the detail the strident trace
of veins latice like life laid bare
ghosts of sweet summer
whisper in the air
the lullaby of long
a slumber before the dawn
dew raised as cold fingers
coats tight gripped with the frost
through the night
sleep as you may against the cold
for wishes dear in warm arms hold
and let your wandering
return at peace
to find the warmth of hearth
where murmurs catch and greet
tide you an evening

in the waning slow

2011/09/08 in poems

in the waning slow
by Tanner Brockwell

in the waning slow
of the day
past water sparkling
the pitter patter tinkling
fingers upon keys
strum of chords
deep and rich and bass
the order chaotic
the air so full of life
murmurs of life
before the wide and open
plaza paths and partners sigh
in the dimming of the day

so much fun you want to squeeze

2011/07/08 in poems

so much fun you want to squeeze
by Tanner Brockwell

so much fun you want to squeeze
sipping brewed exotic leaves that tease
meeting chance as would flow the breeze
like dappled beams of sunlight seize

oh wanton peels of laughter
a summers day down banks rapture
floating in isolation after
the long day placed kisses on nectar

rousing the languished wily
no comedienne leaves a smiley
or round orbs swung bouncy
taking roads enigmatic starry

before sleep would hold me

2011/06/16 in poems

before sleep would hold me
by Tanner Brockwell

before sleep would hold me
close and breathing
feel the beat of beat of heart
below skin deep within
coursing pulse pulls at limbs
mingled mingling might
lo to passing day welcome
arriving night that falls
upon the softest lips
moistened tip of tongue
like a flick of insight in ways
that stop thought stop movement
and bask base below
the lights above can hardly show
enthusiasm and throaty sighs
where once were glances gaze
only lidded eyes

before the storm

2011/05/13 in poems

before the storm
by Tanner Brockwell

before the storm
aroused rolling the dark
clouds bursting illuminate
flash that fields of view
touches the horizon
and darker the torrents
flowing the walk and streets
splashed and dashed
caught out in the cool
damp air swirling
drops cascade
fountains pumping merrily
as the sky opens wide
and pours out the effluence
on a wish of sanctuary
friends fled for warmth
from the coldest north
not the plains pounded hoofs
but lumbering stalked
alpine ridges majesty
elements change in cosmic
cycles torrents to dust
and dust into fiery bounds
disappearing in the air

spring brings the sun

2011/05/10 in poems

spring brings the sun
by Tanner Brockwell

spring brings the sun
come now as soft petals lay
in the swirling grass
brushed by a moving breeze
violets velvety dark absorbance
shudder in the warming rays
and wake in the daze
of afternoon slumber
stirred for clinking
the slender silver spoon
twirling the minty julep
crushed aroma rising
from the veins of chill
refreshment idling
sipped cool upon the lips

lifting drifting way
across the smooth dark
round rim cup and then
sip it deep after the steep
after so sweet just yeah
got up for this got
to feel the morning
