whisper for the nights long kiss
by tanner brockwell (cc) 2007
whisper for the nights long kiss
oh for the sound of loneliness
and the scented air is coy
with citrus and another joy
oh come moon lavishment
for words as missives sent
but hearken to the one i say
both far and near between this day
a promise of a minute drawn
from a well before the dawn
bottomless but steady hand
a fiber glimmers like a strand
of gold of silver of any hue
first that was promised then that true
i hold you near so very close
for passions being my very most
if you close your eyes you’ll see
the visions of the words i say
