all for the masquerade
by tanner brockwell

all for the masquerade
innocence stay
behind the veil
and unafraid
these are not petty times
not for a petty rhyme
but serif and size
all for pretty eyes
the handbill says
tonight only
for unknowns
for unknowable
the crafter has yet his due
the star cross
the verdant moss
an impish smile you never drew
i left this canvas
while i left for only you
and brushes are whisked
across strands of taught gesso
boar and ox while yet i’m able
fish and wing brought to this table
how is a banquet for you needs
or how is this for your deeds

Again…amazing, I love the visions of a painter with words on a blank canvas, creating such gorgeous beauty. You seem to have been on a creative streak today. I hope at some point you read this one aloud… I could almost hear it already.
