ascent
by tanner brockwell

ascent
descent
the silver spiral
hope aspires
begs
sends tidings
needs
at the end of day
moon is a glint
on the spiral so
open once and away
we go
carriage porters fashion set
past suns passing past the set
and dreams so realized
are dreams well spent
pleased to smile
for smiles sent
and waking find
sunrises soon
dreams flicker fast
of that setting moon
