black as pitch
by Tanner Brockwell

black as pitch
wings over high spread
downy soft for dreams
raucous caw caw
terrible gaze
dark dreams
what awesome journey flightly
take where
feathers flit
and rise upon the lunar edge
dressed in a veil
the faint clouds
move sinister yet
this celestial chorus
harmonies radiating
beyond the haze
there revealed retiring
cosmic cacophony
pull the covers close
pull the pillow close
and fly in dreams
