chalky clouds
by tanner brockwell

chalky clouds
pressed flat against the sky
the light gray light
half a moon rising
hidden behind buildings
in the dark night that easily goes
it is a wending moon
that moon of going
for here and there
this lighted night
half way half way home
towards full a going
rise as the night would
take the lighted clouds deft
a blowing and they go
the tufts visible and gone
