cold reflection
by tanner brockwell
cold reflection
disjointed and turned
black dust
and lost
shimmering in the crevice
shiny sharp and pointed
for even years or even tears
the apex of significance
then tumult then turned
from the lofty yearned
and desires as fires
flamed and in fans drift
past auburn past rifts
and rumbling for roar
in the dusty bowl of yore
the tiny figurines
mute in metastasis
the read the verse or even worse
dotted the blue expanse
and dirty smoking trails
fell for head for long for so
this eager rupture then show
and up and stand that final hand
for brusque applaud for in for glint
and wrapped and tied
for certain find
and left and bereft befuddled then
there were stragglers among
far outreaching there were eminent specks
that in the shiny dust of speckled motes
danced in the sun beams and all
until the edge of night
fell across the scene
