consume this fruit
by tanner brockwell (cc) 2007

consume this fruit
and wholly be
taste this too sweet flesh
succumb to desire
fill yourself
aware
to take
to care
and make a moment
last forever
your divinity is found
there are few among these mortals
that know the taste of the divine
when you sup at this table
all leave transformed
with open eyes
with me share desire
as both we crave
to hunger
to feed
to last into the night
and as i taste
we share a breath
and as you taste
i even breathe
