floating upon the waves

floating upon the waves
by tanner brockwell

floating upon the waves
like fire
this image of golden orbicity
the rays bending upon the surface
honeyed fluidity slipping
towards the dark house of night
that veil of mystery
flung across the stary deep
soft as silk the warm breeze
upon the skin
recline surrender
let the cosmos observe
as slowly slowly the winding dreams
unwind in time in your mind
slipping as falling leaves left
in another season
fell from the boughs of a high tree
and floating in slow descent
landing upon the forest floor
made a carpet a regal footing
for feet that dancing
reveled in the earthy loam
