flowers find the sun

20:46 in poems by Tanner

flowers find the sun
by tanner brockwell

flowers find the sun
each petal reaching so
the hues and shades
throughout the day
blooming grin
there was a certain
even a welcome
the straight and then
the burst of joy
or strange silence
the quite close way
there amongst the trodden
be as you were or as you see
that way is far stretching sharp
betwixt the earth and sky
pinwheels spun beneath
filamenting tethers soar
past van allen
past wells asleep
and reaching to abundant fire
the sky is the same as the ground
