i imagine the waters

11:14 in poems by Tanner

i imagine the waters
by tanner brockwell

i imagine the waters
i can feel the wetness
i know that they welcome
you have seen the shore
you have tasted salt spray
you have eager ways

i dally inbetween
i bide my time
i know i am returning
you rise anticipating
you long forlorn hungry
you have a passion

there is a cycle
there are ways we know
there is always something new
here is comfort
here is a way to rest
here is the summer sunset

i imagine the waters
i can feel the wetness
i know that they welcome
