if the heat lay lower
by Tanner Brockwell

if the heat lay lower
my body drenched
and stretched and
moved and for one
brief cool breeze shifting
moving in the drafts
down from the leaves on high
the boughs lowering
reverse the perspiration
relax unto a cool delight
this dusk is cooled into
a warming night
