immensity

immensity
by tanner brockwell

immensity
the long stretch of countless days
uncounted unacknowledged
the weight of glacial slowness
pressing the nooks and tight
vitality in some such antique place
the deposit the lay up the fix
and stratified the rarities
tiny unnoticed undone
sleeping sometime
sleeping somewhere
these ages have names
they are short to say
but oh these ages are longer
than any other day
and taking as the taste
that clear shimmer crystalline
oh the interior shines
the inside has a light
that glint of hints
that welcome stay
this taste is here
and yet melts away
so saying succinctly
as so often said
passing so savory
the dashing or sprinkled way
that all satiation
is better than before
