in the haze of night

13:15 in poems by Tanner

in the haze of night
by tanner brockwell

in the haze of night
that led to certain dawn
a foggy shroud
and buoyed treading
the clinging tightness
insulating preserving
spat the salt water
goggles tight
cradling semi weightless
a touch to hold floating
watery isolation
the circular horizon
ghastly read
silent for shannon
so visual
home was buried
in a watery tomb
ironies of phonemes
colliding
that apex of a small and great
destination unknow
forget you were there
you are the cog certain of wear
the mesh of timely events
trained to submerge
and then drift upon the stream
some are otherwise
