leviathan
by tanner brockwell
leviathan
of a slumber
in so deep
and dreams
though dark and slow
can only see the light
in motes
and beams
from another world
time is moving slower
the minutes become
years and years and years
for telling what was lived
and what was breathed
dancing under another sun
when shoals flew swift
strange patterns
telling again
the time
oh there were ages like
ages before
and ages again
but the anomalies were constant
recurring and troublesome
take my word
these words
and spread them to the farthest shore
and again
til only the pieces
of idioms remain
gleanings of truth
on the waves
