like to dancing sprites

like to dancing sprites
by tanner brockwell
like to dancing sprites
abob and weave
around the open candle flame
the misty embrace
the rising steam
two as wait as wait as one
first came the kiss up above
that landing upon the petals more
scented sweetly the evening air
then the kisses were landing in a pair
that conjuring of spirits wise
they were sprites and open eyes
glimpsed the pulse and beat
of quick hearts to keep
then the twining grow
this is a glimpse
then down down low
the brush of tips of kisses lips
that left a fragrant trail
past hips and sigh past gleaming eye
reflecting oh the glimpse of oh
take as you find
take as you join and stir the open heart to wake
that slept a day and woke brightly
as the evenin’ lowered see
that star that rose that awakened thought
a quick rise and caught
and share betwixt this hand in hand
and hand upon the pulse of life the beat unto
the evening rises rises yet for you
