monopoly of thought

monopoly of thought
by tanner brockwell

monopoly of thought
this and that
for it’s a fact
what is short
quite to the point
each place a memory
and memories in place
i found the dreams
before i had yet time
immobile juxtaposed flung
where there are these beginnings
they are just begun
and for motions like tinders sprung
into the face of this open sky
afronts to diamonds old
there among the light and silent
dancing brief
the whispered linage how
brilliant
quaint and so antique
for memories of dreams
traded for memories of night
