nor espied we
by tanner brockwell
nor espied we
from stately windows
but scurry in the moist air
fresh from showers
that tittered upon the leaves
pulled tight overhead
expedition to some areas
the ordered trees
in avenues sighted
fruitful limbs low droop
and hands in unison
reach to pluck
red orb shaped
the just dessert
to noisily suck
as juices stream down
cheeks flush
a rosy touch
hand in hand
skip along
golden rays
scatter the lingering fog
and as the air clears
there is crispness
and a sense of wellbeing
so nature appears
in rain soaked finery
the draping tendrils of green ivy
fringed with gauzy edge
that slipping sliding fade from view
and nature is left more natural too
