reflecting on the cold river
by tanner brockwell

reflecting on the cold river
that moon that in the night flew
across the sky
and i
small pebble upon the shore
i thought i saw
the crystalline trace
of quartz
ringing this smooth river sojourner
and i imagine that ring
gleaming in a thousand thousand nights
as a moon most mysterious
cast a ray across this shore
so many rounds
the world rotates
the river roars
and small pebbles shine
