rustling patter
by tanner brockwell

rustling patter
the drops upon the tin roof
summer rains fall softly
less than this less than death
that would be like a sleep
never to wake just the rustling patter
jubilance refreshed and late
that the silver hid
all refrains only
kisses upon fluttered lids
