stood upon rough wood

stood upon rough wood
by tanner brockwell

stood upon rough wood
the gaps between the dark
dust and seeds blew through and down
the wagon swayed from side to side
earlier in the day
i had my feet
bouncing up and down
pot holes in the road like a rolling
through my joints
the air was cool as i moved faster
late in the day
the evening was cooling
the up turned edge of leaves
rustling with the breeze
meant that the clear sky would turn dark
light showers in the night
a constant patter
and i dreamt of ocean waves
