striations of antiquity
by Tanner Brockwell

striations of antiquity
laid low in red rocks
that hot beats into fine sand
the torrid dark reflection
is of a darker world
with striations of its own
the sub face sub surface ooze
quiet of life no ripple
upon that place
but only slanting striations
antique before antiquity
hard as fact
and immoving state
