strong magnetic fields
by tanner brockwell

strong magnetic fields
the needle to a view
where would a tarry take you
now long past your due

the filings dance a gig
an utterance beyond a smile
the helpless all the while
trading suggestion for guile

trading patterns in the day
where upon the rain wet lawn
moving in barefeet gone
the taste of memory of dawn

the air blew dry this morn
as a way i circuited
around the roads i went routed
past the flaming cone denoted

this early restless wake me up
the vibrant sense of a whole day
left dreams that made me richly play
upon soft down i still would stay
