the black pitchy night
by tanner brockwell

the black pitchy night
enveloped the scene
sulfurous ignition
the kindled sparks
caught hold
and flaring leap
to the bituminous flare
the shaded figures
linger in the edged light
a circle emerges
the spread light runs up against
the wisp of the leering night
stroked as brushes upon the satin
darkly this night has start
and with sudden impetuous
leaps with kindling flame
a fire a spark and dance
that will be a while
the fire a type of chronicle
traces paths in the air
that burn upon the thoughts
a smokey taste in the air
someone has smoked a cig
the metallic tang of nicotine
wasting by
and then it is gone
the air still full of flames
the essential oils fuel
where there was only dark
a light is shown
the night is new
how much is known
