the bush before the broken rung
by tanner brockwell (cc) 2007
the bush before the broken rung
have all your dreams been unstrung
and dainty dinty dancing time
falling orbs falling sky
i glanced i stared i absorbed the air
even now my marvels wear
like a cuff or other cloth
upon my arm
marvel mighty make a new
the scene of darkest beach i drew
and would a lonely heart tarry to
the lonely shore
but lonely for no more
the beach is not quite empty yet
there is a chance to kindle warmth
strangers that i never knew
this poignant scene
before the night can rain down dew
pile the conflagration
so in the morning
when the sun cuts across the sky
there is a glint upon the sand
