waft left aloft

waft left aloft
by tanner brockwell

waft left aloft
the so near stratosphere
that urging for once
the feeling upon
the sent of
missions past
memories idyll
foot print upon
clay dirt road
particles of dust
scattered with each step
the tree lined road
vibrates with distant wheels
strangefarers way gone for gone
in the too close near of friends
new and old the unknown
i remember you
the words that exchange
the night swings low
before there was the rustle of thunder
light rains that fell damp and warm
the lights in the night like beacons
and later still the fog lower in the valley
cloaked figures nighttime ships
the paths the charted ways
and like ships were sailing
hull-oo and oh flash and brilliant
chains of orbs
figures fantasies
the aspect of archetypes
some intend some discover
the magic of a cautious role
then daring into the light
dawn was presaged
throaty chortle of local birds
their wings flick in anticipation
shuffle and muscles stretch
the rays of early dawn
golden beams
where morning arose
and left a wake of dewy jewels
across the meadow
