when night prepares

when night prepares
by tanner brockwell (cc) 2007

when night prepares
her lonely head
and all the world has it’s rest
the shining glow
of a joyous grin
is but the welcome then
welcome could not be said
in the late and quiet
so what was left
a curious gaze
for you do
and i amazed
would only sigh
night and lights
wonder then
could a backward glance
find a friend
