where is thy thorn

11:00 in poems by Tanner

where is thy thorn
by tanner brockwell

where is thy thorn
love
that tears aside
the veil of the day
and dark night has a soul
that wails unto
the watery front
with wisp of blue
the whites of other ways
the lights now force
up to the bay
and upon the forever wet rock
the flash of light from
a glass cased tower high
the light flashes
so none may die
and so the waters beat the tune
where is the sheltered sky
that holds upon my eye
the mast, the sail, rolling dune
i have landed
but this was soon
half way about the world i’d fly
before it was enough
