your feet touch the wet earth
by tanner brockwell

your feet touch the wet earth
lastly night was a calamity
the sheer alarum come
white heat twisted and cools
found the shard embedded
near the shaded line
is it quiet now upon the face
news filters slowly
the cards for a fortnight gone
traded cigs for a roast
first red in months
is there hunger out there
have the lines moved of late
the last two letters were never replied
i send this on an afternoon
