waking from a dream
by Tanner Brockwell
waking from a dream
was that you were you there
or were these dreams
only phantoms in the morn
lost among golden roads
changing the signs to read
to read and forget
with a colder front
pulled the covers over tight
and sleeping into the night
rustling under cover
legs shifting in the soft sheets
brushing against you
a radiant warmth in a cold time
the sun strings a crystal necklace
across the horizon rose
not just cold but coldly just
even as smiles warm
and tea is coming
from a fragrant garden
the fumbled bumbled bees
dainty dip into the pollen swelled
swollen dusting gold and yellow
clings to and coats
