far fly we
by tanner brockwell

far fly we
from the hints of mediocrity
and wings of inspiration
hold us high
that we soaring
climb dizzying heights
surrounded by only
blue skies

the butterfly upon the wing

2009/03/29 in poems

the butterfly upon the wing
by tanner brockwell

the butterfly upon the wing
beats soft breezes
tiny flicks of tiny wings
would cause a tremendous
whirlwind and typhoon gale
to blow and blow and so
this tiny wing and tiny beats
propels a might gust
a blowing force
this art of nature
the motions of kind
in the refracted glint of tiny eyes
the power of the earth and sky
united entwined and shine
with morning there is a dew
and from the highest sun beams true
gladden heart and gladly say
symphonic pulse and throb a gust
trembling this fine power
is a tremble at so certain hour
that finds that first there is refrain
tiny wings join tiny wings
and dark the sky as they lift high
they are soaring so they soaring fly
