slow as the hushed breath
by Tanner Brockwell
slow as the hushed breath
whis-a-why way way
that the air is an instrument
inhaled – exhaled in time
in this periodic melodic
instantiation of leisure
of motion found and propelled
that ecstatic just
a swelling fugue
carries tones that oh do oh do
tremolo this is
low low low down below
rushing and a coursing
that rises as a pressure
stitch in nine
in now in now in now
and carrying as how
the motion is cresting
though only this is resting
a rise of whys and hows
the crescendo is oh how is oh
melodious monuments of veins
of vessels the throbbing pulse
hearts beat beat beat now
rhythms in syncopating
reciprocating the diver deeper
keeps close holds close
embraces in a tighter hold
infused until the being
feels close to overflow
and tips – the brimful glass
torrents of honey flow
the fresh scent of a morning rain
spring has arrived and each step
bearing the skyful bounty
sparkling in the dawns sunnied rays
this is a wonder filled awesome day
