rain falls

rain falls
pours
each drop
for torrents
for deluge
for effort and relief
succumb suffice
would simpler respite
infuse saturate surfeit
of time or clime
oh certain as this rhyme
left as traces dew
clinging webs and branches to
this world washed
as twilight watch
the sun on horizon lit
fades from view
