a name spoke of solitude
by tanner brockwell

a name spoke of solitude
the fire still shone
a coat for summer or fall
in all ways autumnal
brilliant and elusive
named for history
fleet of foot carried
your intractable passage
like a blurred set
when the glow of summer fades
bounding like an instant
the breath or hearbeat
gone in an exhalation
whisper soft
of these other days
