before sleep would hold me
by Tanner Brockwell

before sleep would hold me
close and breathing
feel the beat of beat of heart
below skin deep within
coursing pulse pulls at limbs
mingled mingling might
lo to passing day welcome
arriving night that falls
upon the softest lips
moistened tip of tongue
like a flick of insight in ways
that stop thought stop movement
and bask base below
the lights above can hardly show
enthusiasm and throaty sighs
where once were glances gaze
only lidded eyes

there is a buzzing

2008/12/18 in poems

there is a buzzing
by tanner brockwell

there is a buzzing
in the woven ways
the straw is splayed and played
a circuitous circular
roving oh a go
where in the deep
near certain sleep
the royal seal
on lips is placed
for lidded eyes dream of the rise
of stated ways
for sudden days
and slipping nights
where blue lone is true
and amber kept in keys
golden shone golden toned
gold is almost another world
colors reflecting inside
provisions in store
the mind is one
pulse and breath
and breathe
infuse so suffuse
and feel the stirring of the muse
